INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION TRAINING
INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION TRAINING – When people with different cultural backgrounds or nationalities work together, inevitably, there will be moments of misunderstanding or disappointment during which communication seems to be difficult.
The lack of knowledge and appreciation of the differences in background experiences are often the cause of frustration and decreased productivity. Intercultural Communication Training helps foreign nationals within an organization to effectively manage in this diverse environment to increase productivity; this communication training comes in two formats.
The first format is for individuals, helping expatriate managers develop the most effective skills for communicating with local workforce personnel. The inevitable culture shock that foreign nationals experience hinders their ability to be productive. Customized intercultural communication training has been critical in providing expatriate managers with the skills necessary to communicate with and understand their workforce. This training provides assurances, recommendations, and answers to the multitude of questions for the newly arrived executive and his or her family.
The second format is for foreign national employees, reporting to local managers. These trainings prepare the foreign worker to respond appropriately to the radically different work expectations that may be encountered within your organization. We provide cultural training to various ethnic groups in the workforce, equipping them with the skills necessary to communicate with their direct reports, as well equipping them with the understanding of how to bond with and integrate into the domestic workforce.

All our training programs are designed to meet the following standards:
Our cultural programs and seminars are designed to be fully integrational. What this means is that we engage all the senses: sight, sound, and emotions. Where appropriate, we may also use advanced psychological tools where participants are able to imagine smells and tastes. Where possible, we may even bring in food samples.
Our cultural programs and seminars provide both factual information, as well as promote intuitive understanding. We provide not only statistical data, hard facts and figures of cultural demographics, but we also teach our clients how to learn the subtler nuances that makes each culture unique.
Our cultural programs and seminars equip our participants with tools on dealing with diverse cultural situations, so that the client is not left to second guess how to move forward in a new and unfamiliar culture.
Our cultural programs and seminars provide a “Cross Cultural” element, where we draw comparisons between the native culture and Hong Kong culture, to give participants a reference point from which to draw their interpretation and understanding.
Our cultural programs and seminars have an element of humor and entertainment. Research shows that when people are entertained, their interest levels are elevated, and they remain engaged for longer periods of time. This enables them to be more receptive to new information, and the retention value is increased.
Our cultural programs and seminars are built with a series of checks and balances, so that we can constantly assess and monitor their learning progress, and adjust accordingly if needed. We also provide a fun pop quiz upon completion.
Our cultural programs and seminars foster “Universal views” rather than “Cultural views”. We take people out of their own culture and society and show them that there are more ways to interpret and view values and beliefs, and no one particular way is more correct than another. This promotes a more universal outlook, which is important in today’s multi cultural business environment. We teach them that what may be construed as being wrong for one culture may be acceptable in another.
